Production blog: I can’t see it.

 On Thursday, 2 December my group and I decided to make the final edits to our video. We were still missing one scene but we decided to do what we should just edit. Then later on add the missing scene. The reason why my group and I  were editing our music video was because a scene was filmed too far. We had planned that in our music video we could see the person sending a text message. However, when we re-watched our video we noticed that you cannot read it. My group and I also got multiple opinions from different people. We did this to make sure it was not just my group that couldn’t read it. So  due to this my group and I  ended up adding side text. We did this using the application cut-up. We did this to make it more realistic and more readable. After we finished this it looked a lot better. It was readable and big. With all this said it helped create more of an ambiance to our music video that we didn’t have before. But we were not done yet. We additionally had to edit the sound. We had to do this one more time because our music video was too long. And our sound was too long. When the sound gets too long we have to cut it. We cut parts of the lyrics from the song. And most of the time when a lyric of this song is cut off we have to figure out a way for it to sound correctly. This usually take a long awhile. This because we want our cuts to sound smooth and unnoticeable.

The heat.

 On Tuesday, the 28 I started filming. So first I had to change to a more causal clothing attire. Even though I would only be showing my legs in these scenes. I changed into sweatpants to film my first two scenes. I started off by filming the second scene first. The second scene is the 180 view of the Nike Air-forces. I decide to film this shot in the sun because it gave my shoes great lighting. Additionally, my shoes have a holographic piece and it changes colors with the lighting. I kept retaking my shot because it kept coming out shaky and it had to be smooth. Also, due to the sun it caused there to be a shadow. It was very difficult not to get my shadow while I was shooting. In my opinion, if it has the shadow it may look unprofessional. After, 5 takes I got the perfect one.
