Production blog: Edits And Cuts

Image
In class today we started editing. This was the thing we were dreading most. This was because we were scared it did not look write. So we added all the videos. All together it was about five minutes long. So we started cutting all the laughs. We are trying to also make a blooper reel. It was so difficult to watch the videos. Personally, I get secondhand embarrassment. I get this because it’s weird watching my self be a killer. It kinda bothers me. However, we were watching it and we could not stop laughing. I think my stomach was going break. I was in so much pain. It wasn’t even funny. Then, we started adding glitches to the light flickering scenes. It was so bad. We sat there for twenty minutes trying to figure out how to match the lighting. We tried to make it as smooth as possible. However, we have so much more editing to do.

Production blog: Filming Part 2

After trying on dresses, we went to Macy’s to look for a frame. We looked for about 30 minutes and did not find a frame. So we walked back to Lili’s house and decided to drive to target to get the frame. So, Angie drove us all to target. We were all exhausted from the walk. The car ride was relaxing and quiet. We got to to target we found them immediately. We got two just in case. One was a trial run and the other was real one. Then, we went to get smoothies to refresh ourselves. We got back to Lili’s house feeling rejuvenated. We played a game for awhile. We waited till it got dark and started filming. When we started filming the lights started twitching. It was the scariest thing ever. And there was a time where Lili and I were filming in the bathroom and the light went completely off and we ran so fast. We filmed the outside part with Aleiah. It looked so realistic. I was also running around with a knife and it was like pretty disturbing. The fake blood stained so many things. It s

We got to film. At 10:00 I got to Angie’s house. I went to Angie’s house because me and her had to buy the props for the film. However, our camera man (my sister) and I got to Angie’s house. We talked for about an hour so we were running super late. Afterwards, Angie drove to party city. We bought the fake blood and white makeup for Angie’s character. We also bought some candy but that was just for us. We decided to go to McDonald’s and buy the group happy meals. But that pretty much meant we were going to be 2 hours late. But we did it anyways. We order and went straight to Lili’s house. Somehow we beat aleiah to Lili’s house. She came shortly after. We ate outside and then started. We filmed 3 scenes. Afterwards, we took a group photo for the night scenes. Then, we only had time to kill. We walked from Lili’s house to Publix. It’s was fun. We found a lizard that was stuck at an elementary school. Then we got to Publix and bought food. Then we went to Starbucks. It was nice. We went

So we have been playing everything so carefully. As mentioned in the past blogs. We have had many mishaps. Group members not able to come to the filming day. We also had the plan because on schedule. But now Aleiah can come the whole day to film. Her Dance team canceled states. This means now we are filming from dawn to dusk. We all have planned to come to Lili’s house at 11:00. However, before there I will be going to Angie’s house. I will be going there around 10:00 to get the props for the film. Angie will be driving our camera man and I to get the props. We will also get food to bring for the others. We will be going to party city. At party city we will buy everything for the film. This includes fake blood, white gown, picture frame and etc. We might have to add some last minute things. However after we are done getting the props we will be heading to Lili’s house to film all together. We are so happy that Aleiah is able to make it. We are thinking that we might have to film one m

Production blog: Back to the plan

So like the last blog stated, our original plan was broken up because Aleiah was not able to come. She had thought that Aleiah had dance the whole day. We thought that we had to split the filming up to two days. However, that problem was fixed. Aleiah was able to come to Lili’s house. We were so sad that we could not find a day. So, we sat down and all talked together. I think the conversation was really relieving. During this we expressed the goals of the group. Additionally, my group spoke about changes we all need to make. During this we found out that Aleiah finishes dance on Monday in the afternoon. So, she still had time to film with us. We asked what time was available. She said after dance she was going to change and come to Lili’s house around 2:30. So, we planned out that Angie, Lili, and I would hang out from 8:00 am to 12:00pm. Then we would go eat. Afterwards, we would come back and film with Aleiah. We are so happy that we could finally find a day to film. I think when w

The plan in the start was too meet at Lili’s house on the next Monday to film. We were going to start filming at 7:00am to 12:00pm. After morning filming, we were planning to have some fun while we were taking a break. We were going to have a picnic. The picnic was right next to our filming location which was perfect. The park also has a playground we were going to take group pictures. We were setting up who was bringing what. We need a blanket, basket, and most importantly food. Then we were going to drive to the mall. I say drive because my group member Angie is getting her drivers license  on Friday so she can drive us everywhere. Afterwards, we had to do the night filming. This was from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The night filming was hard to plan because most of us have practice. I have practice from 7:00 to 9:00 but not on that Monday. Everything was great until one of my group members told us that she would not be able to make it. Aleiah had a dance competition on that same day and wasn’

Production blog: Music Overview

In the beginning it’s was very difficult to find a group song. My group and I went over and over what the song should be. In the beginning our thoughts were to use an instrumental horror song. Most likely piano or first playing in the background with creepy sounds. However, we watched many opening sequences of horror movies and did our research. Soon after we had plans of using an actual song. With that song we make the surroundings suspicious to creat that tense ambience. The song we chose is called “Tiptoe through the Tulips” by Tiny Tim. This song is a regular song though it very weird and matches a horror movie song. It just makes everything seem weirder than it already is. This song came out in 1968. We had worries of contacting artists. This was due to my group and I communicating with other groups to see what they were doing. Many told my group and I how many artist were not responding. Many never received a response back. We had many doubts but in the end it ended up working

1st Sheet:   The film starts with an establishing shot of the house on which the name of the studio, “Blue Breeze Studios” will appear. That shot that shows a creepy girl slowly walking through one of the windows. Soon after appears a four shot of teenage girls, Angie, Emma, Aleiah and Lili, all hanging out in a bedroom, gossiping, when one of them, Emma, starts to distance herself from her friends and goes to the bathroom. At this moment, the name of the production company, “A Plume Productions Film”pops up on the lower left corner. When in the bathroom, an eye-level shot as well as short cuts will show Emma glitching into her alternate self, portrayed as a creepy girl. That is when the name of the actress playing that role appears, Brianna Reyes, still on the lower left corner.  2nd Sheet:  An eye-level shot of Emma shows her, still in the bathroom, getting a knife out of her clothes. Right above her head appears the name of the costars, such as Aleiah Luster, Angie Mendez, and Lil
